Call for applications of 04.07.2022 for the payment of scholarships for the best PhD students of the Krakow School Interdisciplinary PhD Studies implementing a doctoral project in international cooperation and aiming at obtaining a joint PhD degree or double PhD degree, under the STER program – internationalization of doctoral schools, contract no PPI / STE / 2020/1/00020 / U / 00001
The aim of the action is to provide financial support to doctoral students and to create favorable conditions for the implementation of doctoral projects in international cooperation, aimed at obtaining a joint PhD degree or double PhD degree.
PhD students who have submitted an individual research proposal and are implementing a doctoral project in international cooperation and aiming at a joint PhD degree or double PhD degree are eligible to apply.
The scholarship will be awarded to two doctoral students whose applications received the highest number of points in the competition.
Regulations for the payment of the scholarship under the STER program (PL)
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS:
Before submitting an application, beneficiaries are required to familiarise themselves with the Regulations for the payment of a scholarship for the best doctoral students at the Krakow School Interdisciplinary PhD Studies implementing a doctoral project in international cooperation and aiming at obtaining a joint PhD degree or double PhD degree, under the STER program – internationalization of doctoral schools, contract no PPI / STE / 2020/1/00020 / U / 00001.
The beneficiaries of the call for applications will be selected through an open competition from among those KISD doctoral students who, between 04.07.2022 and 26.08.2022, 2.00 p.m., submit an application for a scholarship to the Secretariat of the Krakow School Interdisciplinary PhD Studies (Krakow School Interdisciplinary PhD Studies, The Henryk Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences, ul. Radzikowskiego 152, 31-342 Kraków, building no. 5, ground floor, room 5224). The application should be accompanied by:
1. Justification containing a description of the doctoral student’s previous activities related to the implementation of the doctoral project in international cooperation and aimed at obtaining a joint PhD degree or double PhD degree, in particular:
a) the stage of implementation of the education program in cooperation with foreign research units under double or joint diploma agreements, e.g. cotutelle, double degree, joint degree;
b) the current cooperation of the doctoral student in the framework of the doctorate being prepared with a foreign research unit,
c) the possibilities for further international cooperation of the doctoral student,
d) the previous cooperation of the doctoral student with the supervisor or auxiliary supervisor from a foreign research unit,
e) the importance of international cooperation as part of the doctoral student’s dissertation for the research group in which the doctoral student works,
f) information on joint publications created as part of the doctoral student’s cooperation with a foreign research unit, including acknowledgments for the Program.
2. Documents confirming the doctoral student’s previous activities related to the implementation of the doctoral project in international cooperation and aimed at obtaining a joint PhD degree or double PhD degree, as specified in point 1.
3. The supervisor’s opinion on the current international cooperation of the doctoral student, in particular the possibility of obtaining a joint PhD degree or a double PhD degree.
The Commission has the right to ask the doctoral student for explanations or information in relation to the submitted application. Refusal to provide explanations or information or failure to provide explanations and information within the deadline set by the Commission will result in leaving the application unprocessed.
Applicants will be informed of the results of the call by e-mail.
