Recruitment is conducted at the request of the appropriate Deputy Director of the Doctoral School. The application submitted to the KISD Director must be approved by the appropriate Director of the Unit being an institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences or AGH Rector. The application includes, in particular:

1. indication of sources for financing a doctoral scholarship in the training period,
2. deadline for the submission of research topic proposals,
3. schedule of the examination,
4. scope of the examination,
5. indication of a person consenting to take up the function of a supervisor within a proposed research topic,
6. indication of a person consenting to take up the function of an auxiliary supervisor within a proposed research topic, should his/her participation in the preparation of a doctoral dissertation within a given research topic be planned,
7. statement of conformity with the requirements referred to in Article 190 (5,6) of the Act, submitted by a person consenting to take up the function of a supervisor,
8. title of a research topic within which a doctoral dissertation is to be prepared,
9. description of a research topic including no more than 250 words in the Polish and in the English language.
